Watching lighting port going makes me happy and sad as well.

I have been listening to the EU for a long time about forcing all the electronics to switch to the USB-C even though I am happy that the lightning port is going away, and like that fact, now we can have the universal charging across all the devices. As I said lighting port is going away, and I think that is the excellent and right step ahead of where all the manufacturers have switched to USB-C, which offers faster data speed and faster charging, and being a user of USB-C in my past devices makes my life easier though while having the great privilege of faster charging the battery and fastening the data speeds.

I am also sad about this as well, look when we demanded the usb c phones it’s totally what is making me sad is the dream of port-less devices I though that apple could port-less in near future, however I think that the dream of the port-less phones will be dream as EU has mandated the USB-C devices in that policy it mentions about the usb port shifting but it also hinders the apple to go port-less as well, as the policy states that all the phones will have to go usb c otherwise there will be no business which is a good thing in my opinion, what is more in that policy is that no devices should go port-less either which makes me think that can we get the port-less future or not cause port-less phones do offers the better ip rating and more minor environmental damage as the usb port is the second weakest part that gets damaged and wear off by the time of taking new phones ( depending upon how much you care) nevertheless after the battery the usb port get damaged with improper handling, guy like me do exploit the usb a lot number of times and wireless charging for me is an added bonus to me as the device seats on the pad ,without having to search for the cables to insert into the phone in less appropriate way even though it does not matter to be honest because we still have reversible connector, however for me I take phones outside where there is a risk of hacking and risk of water going into the port and many times my usb port ends up being damaged at the point where I cannot charge.

If Apple could have gone portless, then I would be a happy customer that I have invested in wireless charging pads the moment I got a flagship phone into my hand, and that could have given me less worry about the USB port getting damaged or even getting hacked. However, I trust manufacturers that they provide good security over the USB port, but if the phones have gotten away with port, especially when there is no charger in the box, it would be great.

My sadness is why not go fully port-less instead of being forced by laws.

Yes, I know about the USB data transfer speed and faster charging, I hear you, and I know that lot of you want to attach some good chuck of accessories with the USB port, and USB charging generates less heat, but think about some possibilities about the port more miniature devices. It would be nice to have it, even though we have a nearby share, airdrop, and quick share in Samsung phones, which offer good data transfer speeds.
